5. Only qualified medical professionals are allowed to make a medical diagnosis and prescribe medications. Therefore, students are not to diagnose or prescribe medications in case they are not medical professionals. 

6. Students shall guide mothers to seek immediate medical attention if the baby is showing signs of not getting enough milk/ getting dehydrated/failing to thrive.

7. Lactation Enablers shall be responsible and accountable for the suggestions and/ or advice they give to breastfeeding parents. BSIM will not be held liable for the same.

Babies can be nourished and nurtured in different ways and while we have used the terms breastfeeding and nursing, we recognize that parents can opt to chest feed or finger feed.
